Welcome back to blogmas day 19. Today's post is all about something I started to do in the summer of this year. I started to journal. So in today's post I will be talking about why I journal, what journaling is and how to start journaling. Before I start I would just like to saw that I am not a professional in any way, I just want to share something that I have loved to do. If you have any questions then let me know in the comment section.
What is journaling?
I don't know an exact definition but I do have my own interpretation of it. Journaling is a creative type of diary writing. you can draw art, write stories and songs, write quotes, stick in tickets and phots. Whatever you want to do, you can do. There is a whole community on youtube dedicated to journaling.
Why did I start journaling?
I started journaling because I wanted to document my summer. While on holiday, I was watching flip-through videos on youtube and all the books looked so creative. While I was out in Paignton I found a pretty floral notebook and decided to start journaling. Another reason I started was because I was going through a horrible time at school and wanted a way t write down my feeling privately. Believe me it really helped during the hard times.
Tips for journaling
- don't be afraid to write down the bad things about your day
- use coloured pens, washi tape an glitter to decorate
- personalise it to fit your personality
- watch flip-through videos to get inspiration
- use pictures to accompany your writing
- enjoy yourself
How to start journaling
Grab a notebook and pen. Write about whatever you want. Go wild!
